Today is 2012/12/12. Not 12/12/12. The year 12 was a couple of thousand years ago.
Today I checked the "macro" difference that my extension tubes make on my 200mm lens. I was impressed. All images are at closest focusing distance.
First image, 200mm lens on a 1.3 crop camera.
Second image, 200mm lens with a 12mm extension tube on a 1.3 crop camera.
Third image, 200mm lens with a 25mm extension tube on a 1.3 crop camera.
Fourth image, 200mm lens with a 12mm and a 25mm extension tube on a 1.3 crop camera.
I went back for a second round of stupid lens tricks using extension tubes and extender lenses! The two notable ones are when I stack the 1.4x and 2.0 teleconverters in conjunction with the pair of extension tubes.
In this picture the order is camera, then extension tubes, then teleconverters, then lens.
In this picture the order is camera, then teelconverters, then the extension tubes, then the lens.
And here we have a 100mm 1:1 macro mounted directly to the camera.
This is the 100mm macro with both extension tubes on it.
And this is the 65mm 1:5 macro, just for comparison.
Chris took a picture of my foolish lens tricks.
At gaming, Jason turned in his coupon for a level instead of opting for me to attempt removing his brain tumor.
Chris brought miracle berries in pill form, so we all tried foods.
